One of the most iconic painting is in Suvilahti
Before street art, like graffiti's, were considered as sabotage. There are still many graffiti artists who got caught for impressing themself and owe the government or Helsinki city (I'm not sure which one) ridicilous amounts of money. Gladly nowadays graffiti is art. It's a way to impress. It brings colour, it makes our mind wake up. It seeds us something. And now it's seen like this in upper policymakers.

Sure still one can get caught for painting the wrong place, but there are open spaces where it's legal to paint. And if you have an idea for bigger piece of art: just ask the right people.

You can sport artworks everywhere. From Suvilahti you'll find wall that is dedicated for street art. You will find things all around Helsinki. Maybe skip slightly conservative areas like Lauttasaari and Kulosaari, but when you go to Arabia, Pasila or deep in East Helsinki suburbs, you will find plenty!

There's also a museum specialized in graffiti art - how cool is that now?
