Kaapelitehdas or Kaapeli (Cable Factory) is as well a place for arts and culture. This big building used to be a cable factory as the name gives a hint. It's one of the oldest "culture factories" in Helsinki. The building itself includes working spaces for artists, improvisation theatre Stella Polaris, art gallery space Puristamo and the Finnish Museum of Photography. The whole place is inspiring and worth a visit. Reminds a bit like the castle of City of Lost Children by Jean Pierre Jeunet and Marco Caro.

Hot tip!

The Finnish Museum of Photography is free of charge every months last Wednesday!
