Finnish cuisine to try

 

1. Mustamakkara = blood sausage is famous sausage from Tampere which is located 180 km from Helsinki. Filling has crushed rye as well as blood from pork. Eaten with lingonberry jam.

2. Kalakeitto = Fish soup is very traditional food usually made from salmon but any fish will do. It includes also potatoes, carrot, allspice and dill to finish. It's made with cream and butter.

3. Karjalanpiirakka = karelian pie is rye pie which has rice porridge filling. The best ones you'll find from market hall like from Hakaniemi. Best ones are hand made, but machine made one's you'll find from any supermarket.

4. Lihapiirakka = Finnish meat pie is basically dough filled with meat and rice. Sold in supermarkets as well as midnight snack in grills. 

​

5. Muikut = vendace are prepared frying. They're so tiny that eating them whole is the only option. Kauppatori is place to go and eat them.
