Seasonal food: Bilberry crumble pie

 

Oh, bilberries: your sweet and sour taste and my bilberry colored lips. Also this superfood has plenty of antioxidants. And you might be used to pay lot's for your superfoods, but you know what? Our bilberries are free of charge. Pays the effort to go and pick up them from the forest. Also you can find frozen ones from supermarkets and they won't cost much.

 

Here's recipe for bilberry crumble pie:

 

 

Crust

 

200g cold butter

4dl wheat flour

2dl oats flour (or 6dl only oats flour to make it gluten free)

1/2 tea spoon salt

1dl granulated sugar (or other sweetener options)

 

Filling

 

7dl Fresh or 3dl frozen bilberries

1 tbl spoon Vanilla sugar

1/2 dl sugar

1 tablespoon farina

 

Heat owen to 225°. Mix crust together with your fingers. Mix filling together and place it in the bottom of pie pan. Then add the crust. Bake it for 20 minutes.

 

Eat with vanilla ice cream!
