Canoeing in Helsinki

Helsinki is surrounded by sea and actually part of Helsinki is in Island. The sea is also usually calm so this gives a perfect opportunity for discovering Helsinki from different angle by canoeing.

The season starts usually right after the ice has melted in Spring time (around beginning of May) and lastst until Autumn.

For some places you will need membership card for renting a canoe but some places offer renting without a membership. If you fancy getting the membership card, remember to book your training lessions in advance as they are usually always full. In advance means early in the spring!

Helsingin Melontakeskus (renting)

Helsingin Merimelojat (recquires membership)

Helsingin Kanoottiklubi (membership & renting)

Melontaranta* (renting)

Natura Viva (renting, tours, etc)

(*= Melontaranta is in Vantaanjoki - Vantaa river side)
