To the movies

 

Movie thearte culture is growing fast in Helsinki. There are different movie festivals organized and more and more people are going to them instead of going to mainstream movies. Two biggest festivals are Rakkautta ja Anarkiaa (Love and Anarchy) organized on September and DocPoint specialized in ducumentary films on February. These festivals have the best timings too: September - when darkness starts to take hold after Summer. And on February DocPoint, when Spring is starting and days are getting longer and longer. These times are the most inspiring seasons too, so why not boost inspirations with great movies?

 

Small movie theartes show interesting films too. And by the way, don't worry - we don't dub in Finland, we have subtitles. So if the film is in English, French, Italian, Hebrew... it will be spoken in that language. Childrens movies are dubbed but there are also English versions available. We Finns are multilingual. 

 

During summer there are also free outdoor movies. Just grab a bottle of wine and a good friend and enjoy movies outdoor. Except during summer it's so light in the evenings that how can you watch a movie? Well, you have to experience it!
