Joking

One good joke is always to say something about people coming from Turku. Or just Turku as a place.  Anything including word "Turku" makes us often laugh. Helsinkians don't laugh about racistic jokes like in other parts of Finland some people do. Or if you consider those Turku-jokes as racist, then we have a hint of racist living inside us. But against immigrants, Swedish people, sexual orientation or people from different races - it's not funny for us.

Turku is always a good joke. There's even a radio show on in Radio Helsinki in which our local musician Edu Kehäkettunen speaks with Turku accent. Slightly insane but always a great humor.

As I wrote, we're not racist, except sometimes. We're racists against racists and that's actually wrong but it's changing little by little. We like to make jokes about Soldiers Of Odin's. Or actually we keep them as a real life bad joke.

Our politicians are always a good humor. So our humor is reflecting current siruations in Finland. It's sarcasm, baby!

*Turkulainen is a person coming from Turku. Turku is Finland's ex capital as well as oldest city in Finland.

For April fools day I dressed up like this
