You might be familiar with Japanese and Korean karaoke, but did you know we Finns love to sing as well. Most of karaoke bars are owned by motocyle gangs, so don't be surprised if you find yourself sitting next to one - or even singing together with one.

There are many karaoke bars in Helsinki and going to karaoke is always an option. There are huge differences between karaoke bars but one thing is sure: it includes heavy drinking.

Most of the songs are Finnish hits, but you'll find also English or even Swedish songs from the catalog. And when you perform, you can be sure that you wont be alone! People like to empathise to others performances too!

In Stadin Tähti the age limit seems to be 18 to this place - or it seems like that, but it has it's own charm

Musta Härkä is also a disco. A very good place to meet people who live in Kallio-Vallila - areas *

Populus is a great place to go Sundays at 9 am *

Pata Ässä where you'll meet Finnish celebrities as well as motocylist club leaders

KGB is pretty hidden but during Friday and Saturday a fun place - and usually packed!

*=NOTE! Most of the bouncers in these bars are right wing minded

which means they might not let you in because of your race. It's sad and hopefully this will change soon because this is not how we work in Helsinki.
