Coffee, please!
Finns drink the most coffee in the whole World. Fact. We like our coffee brewed, black and strong. And we drink it until our skin is so dry that our eyeballs jump off from our face.
Almost. Nowadays more and more special coffees have started to take place in our hearts. Coffee has also became a relaxing element instead of only being our kick for the day.
Coffee is still expensive: a latte is around 4,5€ and there are huge differences between coffee shops. But if you don't think moneywise, if you're searching for a coffee shop which has a good atmosphere, nice people and interesting interior I would tell ou to try these out:
In Kallio
Ipi Kulmakuppila. In Kallio there were already many coffee shops, but this one was welcomed specially (read also the story behind Ipi!)
Rupla. you'll find coffee, yoga, art exhibition and even a cake exhibition!
Jädelino. Enjoy life with a espresso macchiato and licorice ice cream.
Om'pu. Have a coffee in a Finnish way, in a bar. No, they don't serve latte's.
Vallila
Cafe Suvanto. Cute little cafeteria where you feel like you have been going there forever. Also nice brekkie served!
Ullanlinna / Punavuori
Birgitta. Enjoy your coffee under the blue sky and watch the sea. What can be more calming? (summers only)
Brooklyn Cafe. New York middle of Helsinki.
Gran Delicato. Italian owned coffee shop where you go for Coffee.
Katajanokka
Cafe Kokko (Raw goods!)
Johan & Nyström concept store. There's no doubt about Johan& Nyström having the best coffee in town. But don't worry, many of coffee shops have started to use their coffee!
