RAW food culture

In Finland we have this thing called winter. Wnter equals darkness. As Helsinki is located Southern Finland, does this unfortunately mean that winters are not that white anymore. Sure there are years that it snows and snow lasts for three months or so, but lately amount of snow during winter has been poor.

Snow brings light for dark days. White snow reflects sun so you're getting double kick when the sun shows up.

During winter Finns must keep an eye on what goes inside from mouth. Again, unfortunately, many people don't look after what they eat, they just want fast energy and the importance of high nutrient food is forgotten.

There are some fantastic restaurants which are healing your mind and soul with food. One great is Silvoplee in Hakaniemi which is specialized in raw food. Also lot's of organic. You'll find cooked food too but the raw section is endless. Also one very good place to try out at lunch time is Omnam in central Helsinki. Pretty newly opened Roots Helsinki is also a place to head for healthy nutiritious lunch.

The trend for raw food is rising at the moment and cup cakes are changing into raw cakes. It's happening slowly, but it's happening at least!
