"Torilla tavataan" - meet you at the market place

There's something about Finnish culture. We might not be proud of our politics and economy is all the time a big questionmark. Many people are planning on moving abroad from Finland - and many have done so - because of there's a negative energy all the time surrounding. And media knows how to boost all this.

But then, when something great happens it's time to run to the market place. It's not just a market place, it must be Kauppatori market square. No excuses. It's the place to go. It's where people run like maniacs to celebrate. It might be that Finland wins Eurovisions, people start yelling: "Torille! Torille! Torille!" (= to the market square).

Or the best reason to run to the market square is definitely ice hockey. If Finland wins in ice hockey, and especially if it happens during the spring time as the World Championship games are held, you can be sure the market square is packed. And this happening contains lot's of nudity and alcohol. In market square Finnish culture escalates.

Torilla tavataan!

Meet you at the market place!
